Holzmann, Eduard

Holzmann, Gotthard Eduard. Bauingenieur und Bauunternehmer. * 23.5.1870 Groß-Umstadt, † 10.3.1929 Ffm.
Sohn von Johann Wilhelm H. (1842-1913) und dessen erster Ehefrau Anna Maria, geb. Wohlfahrt (1848-1870). Enkel von Johann Philipp H. Halbbruder von Wilhelm Heinrich H.
Jugend in Ffm. Abitur am Wöhler-Realgymnasium. Studium in Karlsruhe und Berlin-Charlottenburg, abgeschlossen mit dem Staatsexamen. 1900 Eintritt in das Familienunternehmen als Bauingenieur. Seit 1908 Prokurist. Seit 1912 stellvertretendes Vorstandsmitglied. Nach der Fusion des Unternehmens mit der „Internationalen Baugesellschaft“ zur „Philipp Holzmann AG“ (1917) gehörte H. dem Vorstand der neuen Aktiengesellschaft an. Zugleich Vorstandsmitglied der „AG Hellerhof“ (1917-28). H. erwarb sich besondere Verdienste um den Ausbau der Ffter Häfen, vor allem des Osthafens, und der städtischen Kanalisation sowie um den Neubau der Alten Brücke.
